TIME INSENSITIVE

"This cutting is a document of the changing seasons of human "love" and self-interest in contrast with the unchangeable nature of God. After turning away from the natural order for a self-mutilation of the mind, we reach a point at which the virtual will no longer suffice and our souls scream out for the truth."

EXPOSÉ D'ERABLES

Conceived and executed during the weeks just before and during the spring melt in Gaspésie, QC on the eastern seaboard of Canada. Spending the winter months in the hillside above the Atlantic ocean with canvas, accordion, typewriter and wood stove. The Canadian winter requires this cycle of hibernation with the extreme temperatures and weather conditions. In this way the rural artist is closer to the rhythm of nature than the urban artist is, for he is forced to submit to the elements, not relying on electricity, running water or the importation of food to interrupt the natural flow. Therefore, being in closer contact to the forces which create life tends to diminish the importance of oneself and can alleviate the modern ailments created by the age of anxiety, the age of individuality. By this self-diminishing effect the artist can more clearly see and feel the creative power and find his place within the cosmic system of life. The art-product becomes more of a by-product of a unifying experience with the divine. We can start to see slivers of light through our veiled perceptions and effectively start the transition back to God."

TECNICAL PERSPECTIVES #28

"A short film following the inner workings of a motion picture film-lab and its technical processes which are inherently devoid of emotion."
